Editing

Developmental editing is  where I resolve “big picture” issues in your manuscript, including structure, form, plot, and character. Good developmental editing will bear your target audience in mind and assess your work in relation to industry standards and expectations.

I will ensure consistency throughout the story arc and in each chapter, believability, and accuracy, Additionally, I will make suggestions on chapter titles, table of contents, and indexes. Developmental editing zooms in on wide story elements. Sentence-level errors such as punctuation and grammar typos require a proofreader.

Don't just take my word for it. Here's what one of my clients had to say:

It’s not just grammar and punctuation with Elise. After she edited my manuscript, her guidance assisted me in completing the project. She asked the right questions to pull the emotional story out and offered some excellent ideas.

I am grateful for that guidance and recommend her services to other authors.
