We have some power in us that knows it’s own end. It is that that drives us on to whatever must finally become. We have only to conceive of the possibility and somehow the spirit works in us to make it actual. This is the true meaning of transformation. This is the real metamorphosis and that’s my life purpose.

Three continents, six countries, four languages, multiple loves, losses and gains. Continued soul searching and movement, even in stillness. From a thought to an action, whatever I have set my heart and mind upon has happened. My life is a science experiment, my experiences the laboratory. The people who touch me are earth’s natural elements in every gradiation. When combined with selective circumstances, geographic locations and emotions the results are my growth. In life and on paper. Welcome to Elise Krentzel’s world.
New York City raised, I left behind a wild life of rock n’roll journalism to head for Zen-like pleasures in Tokyo, Japan where I stayed for seven years. Achieving the ultimate palette in sushi discrimination and writing my first novel was for me, a bonzai!
During the Reagan 80’s back in New York my first volume of poetry, City Wine, was published. I succeeded in building a non-profit in Switzerland in the 90s, “Hope Tour” which raised awareness of Aids amongst South African youth throgh rap music videos distributed to schools and shebeens in Soweto.
I lived in Switzerland, Sweden, France and Holland and in 2008 returned to New Amsterdam with my Dutch husband and 6 ½ year old son. My favorite getaways are Siberia and Mongolia where I croon to the wind swirling inside my head, “eave me alone why don’t you leave me alone” - in order to stop myself from talking as much as I do.
I work as a travel, art & design, food and lifestyle writer while working on two books. I do cross-cultural consulting to businesses relocating and repatriating their staff from one country to another.
